Post Two

Morning, morning!  Just arrived at work, made a brew and quickly jotting down some stuff before the Ladies arrive.
So, the cough doesn't seem to have affected my neck too much - but then I am sort of remembering to do my exercises too.  My body is concentrating on the other stress responses since being told that we're unlikely to be paid at the end of the month.  So yesterday I had a flashy eye (ocular migraine) and I've been having to take the IBS tablets too, but it's all manageable at the moment.
Last night we went on a coach trip up to the top of the quarry in our village.  Amazing views would have been had if it hadn't been for the clouds!  Apparently you can see the Maughan Mountains in Ireland on a clear day, as well as the Isle of Man and Blackpool tower - well, it is 1200 metres above sea level!  It was a really interesting trip with two blokes giving a running commentary - one on the quarry in recent years and the other on the history of the quarry and the mountain.  The Iron Age hut circles from the Braich-y-Dinas hill fort http://www.coflein.gov.uk/en/site/56668/images/BRAICH-Y-DINAS+HILLFORT,++PENMAENMAWR/ used to stand 4 feet high before they started digging away at the mountain - but as the guy said, it was post WW1 when they started digging at that particular bit and the national feeling was more about jobs for heroes rather than ancient remains.  It's all part of the ongoing history of the mountain, but what a pity! :-(  We could have had our own Jarlsberg here.  Hey ho.  Hoping to be able to go to the Viking Festival in Amlwch a week on Saturday - there'll even be a boat burning.  If we've got enough petrol to get there and it's not piddling down then it should be a great event.
